- Self-defense training. Learn to defend against punches, kicks, multiple attackers, guns, knives, rifles. This class is excellent for both women and men. The Self-defense class is followed by Samurai arts class where one can learn the weapons of the samurai, such as the samurai sword, naginata (pole arm), yari (spear), hanbo (half-staff), bo (full staff), jujutsu, and hojojutsu
- Shorin-Ryu Kobudo & Bunkai (applications). Kobudo is a unique martial art that is blended with Shorin-Ryu Karate. After bladed weapons were outlawed on Okinawa in the 15th century, the peasants began to train with their tools of trade as self-defense weapons. Farmers used their tools, fishermen used their specific tools. We have continued this tradition by teaching the use of the Okinawan weapons, but have also added more modern tools such as car keys, belts, hammers, rakes, rock hammers, axes, etc. This is followed by advanced kobudo training.
